Full job description

Phoenix Technology Services LP is a progressive and innovative Calgary based Directional Drilling Company. Driven by our client’s needs, we are committed to providing more efficient and cost-effective drilling operations.

We currently have an opening for a CNC Lathe Machinist based out of our SE Technical Centre.

Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for basic programming, setup, and operation of FAGOR TNC770/1060 lathes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generate CNC programs for TNC770/1060 using FAGOR Control.
  • Set up and operate FAGOR TNC770/1060 lathes.
  • Verify and record dimensions of parts and adjust machines accordingly to achieve the desired quality of the end product.
  • Perform required machine maintenance and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Assist with training new employees.
  • Perform other machining and QC-related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience with CNC lathe setup and operation. Experience in the oil and gas industry, API threading, as well as experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol controls, will be considered assets.

As a safety sensitive position, this role requires functional English skills (reading, writing, listening, and comprehension) for:

  • Proper understanding of one’s job, safety-related training, alerts, policies, procedures, and instructions
  • Reading and understanding all corporate-related compliance documents, procedures and policies
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors
  • Effective and safe performance of one’s job-related tasks
