Overview

The Onsite Logistics Coordinator is a key member of the Site Services group, responsible for coordinating all logistical functions to support field operations at the Minto Mine Site in the Yukon Territory. Initially reporting to the Director, Business Planning and Site Operations, this position requires strong organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, initiative, and problem solving. The successful candidate will oversee personnel movements, procurement, inventory management, and special projects to ensure the site is safe, efficient, and well supplied as the project moves into a growth phase.

Title flexible depending on experience.

Personnel and Travel Logistics

  • Work with Logistics Manager and Site Supervisors to schedule personnel movements in and out of site (charter flights, ground transportation, dynamic personnel schedule changes)
  • Coordinate with contractors, employees, and vendors to ensure smooth and timely crew changes.
  • Maintain up-to-date rosters, manifests, and travel documentation.
  • Oversee procurement for the exploration department, including sourcing, purchasing, and tracking of equipment, consumables, and camp supplies.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
  • Monitor budgets and procurement records to ensure compliance with company policies.

Procurement & Supply Chain

  • Working with the Logistics Manager, oversee procurement for the Site Services group including sourcing, purchasing, and tracking of equipment, consumables, and camp supplies.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.
  • Monitor budgets and procurement records to ensure compliance with company policies.

Special Projects

  • Lead the re-design, clean-up, and organization of the site office to improve efficiency and workflow.
  • Lead onboarding and implementation of workforce logistics software.
  • Manage and execute special programs and operational improvement initiatives as directed by management.
  • Support cross-departmental needs with a “hands-on” approach to get the project up and running effectively.

Health & Safety Duties

  • Adhere to all Selkirk Copper health and safety policies, and camp procedures.
  • Participate actively in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard identification.
  • Take a proactive approach to identifying and reporting hazards and all incidents.

Key Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently under minimal supervision in a remote environment.
  • Extremely strong organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high dynamic environment

Preferred (Assets):

  • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset.
  • Experience using workforce logistics software is a strong asset (Nomadis or other).
  • Previous experience in large event planning/coordination and execution is an asset (weddings/ conferences/etc.).
  • WHMIS, First Aid, or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Previous experience working in a remote mining, construction, or heavy industrial setting is an asset.
  • Valid drivers license required.
