Core Logging Geologist – 2026-063

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Core Logging Geologist to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation. This position is open to candidates who reside within 150 km of the McIlvenna Bay site or who can travel using our company shuttle from Saskatoon or Prince Albert. No additional travel subsidy is provided.

The Core Logging Geologist is responsible for geological core logging and geochemical sampling of core along with involvement in interpretation exercises and specialist data collection and analysis. This position will play a crucial role in our exploration operations by contributing to the understanding of geological structures and mineralization in our deposit areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform geological core logging and interpret the geological structures and mineralization in the core.
  • Collect and manage geological data, including logging, sampling, and data entry into the geological database.
  • Select and mark up assay sampling intervals.
  • Identifying and reporting drill related issues
  • Ensure daily tracking files are updated
  • Oversee geotechnical logging of core, ensuring proper meter markings and orientation markings.
  • Assist with geotechnical logging as needed, including: RQD, core recovery, magnetic susceptibility, specific gravity & photographing drill core.
  • Prepare sample shipments and associated documentation.
  • Additional related duties as required.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, or a related field.
  • Professional registration with APEGS as a G.I.T. or the ability to register with APEGS as a G.I.T. is required.
  • Some understanding of volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits and other metallic orebodies is preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of geological features and mineralization styles in ore deposits.
  • The ideal experience range for this position would be from newly graduated candidates to candidates with up to 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with geological software, such as MapInfo, GeoSpark etc. would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong data analysis and computer problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to maintain a positive attitude and work well with others in a remote site field camp.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to be resourceful.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a high-performing exploration team
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $85,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
