Full job description

Seva Clinic is seeking a highly qualified and patient-focused Locum Family Physician to join our multidisciplinary primary care practice. This opportunity is ideal for physicians committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based, and patient-centered care within a collaborative clinical environment.

The successful candidate will provide full-scope family medicine services to a diverse patient population while working alongside an experienced clinical and administrative team. Our modern practice offers efficient workflows, robust administrative support, and an electronic medical record (EMR) system designed to optimize physician productivity and enhance patient care.

This position offers flexible locum scheduling, competitive Fee-for-Service remuneration, and the opportunity to practice in a well-established, high-volume community clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive family medicine services to patients across all age groups.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage acute, chronic, and complex medical conditions in accordance with current clinical guidelines and best practices.
  • Conduct preventive health assessments, routine physical examinations, and health screening initiatives.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing management of chronic diseases.
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in compliance with CPSA standards and Alberta Health regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic investigations, including laboratory and imaging studies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical documentation using the clinic's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Coordinate patient care through appropriate referrals to specialists, allied health professionals, hospitals, and community-based services.
  • Promote health education, disease prevention, and evidence-based lifestyle interventions.
  • Ensure continuity of care through appropriate follow-up and effective communication with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Adhere to all applicable standards established by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA), Alberta Health, and relevant privacy legislation.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a recognized and accredited medical institution.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

Schedule

  • Locum Position
  • Flexible scheduling based on physician availability.
  • Clinic operating hours: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight, seven days per week.
  • Multiple shifts are available throughout the day, including morning, afternoon, evening, and late-evening sessions.
  • Physicians may select shifts that best align with their availability and practice preferences, subject to clinic requirements.

Compensation

  • Competitive Fee-for-Service (FFS) remuneration through Alberta Health.
