Production Coordinator

Location: Vaughan, ONDepartment: OperationsReports To: Operations Master Scheduler

Position Summary

The Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules, customer requirements, and operational priorities are achieved. Acting as a key liaison between Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Shipping, the Production Coordinator supports workflow management, production planning, and ERP system accuracy to drive on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor daily production schedules to support customer delivery requirements.
  • Release, prioritize, and track work orders through all stages of production.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
  • Maintain accurate production data and transactions within the ERP system.
  • Review work orders, routings, and manufacturing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Monitor production progress and provide regular status updates to Operations Leadership.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Shipping to address production issues and support workflow continuity.
  • Track material shortages and escalate risks that may impact production schedules or customer deliveries.
  • Generate production reports, KPI summaries, and operational metrics for management review.
  • Support inventory control activities, work order closures, and production record maintenance.
  • Participate in operational meetings and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production flow, communication, and scheduling effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a production coordination, planning, scheduling, or manufacturing support role.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is considered a significant asset.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, precision machining, or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • College diploma or in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field would be considered an asset.
