Dispatcher

United Ready Mix is a rapidly growing ready-mix concrete company supplying concrete across the Greater Toronto Area. We are focused on supplying quality concrete, safely and on time at competitive prices.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Sales and Operations Manager, the Concrete Dispatcher is skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced environment. With the focus on customer service, is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the safe delivery of ready-mix concrete from the appropriate plant to job sites, which includes taking and managing customer orders, drivers and trucks, and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

Location: 177 Creditstone Rd, Concord, ON L4K1N5

Hours of Operations: 6am to 3pm / 9am to 6pm (plus potential night and weekend shifts)

Hourly rate: $28-$32 per hour (Based on qualifications, experience and relevant skills)

Key Responsibilities:

· Responsible for receiving and managing customer orders for multiple concrete production plants in the Greater Toronto Area.

· Ensure all customer orders are entered in a timely and accurate manner into the dispatch software.

· Communicating effectively with operations, coordinate and schedule daily labour requirements, including drivers, batchers, loader operators and QA.

· Maximize available resources while ensuring high quality customer service.

· Coordinate with operations and batchers production employees time, including non-productive hours, concrete blocks, truck cleaning, etc.

· Work closely with maintenance staff to schedule fleet and plant repairs to minimize downtime and day-to-day impacts on service and equipment availability.

· Report workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents which may involve personal injury or property damage as per company policies and procedures.

· Ensure concrete ticketing is complete and accurate, and maintain customer records including key contacts (phone number, email, etc.) for clients and job project sites.

· Coordinate C.O.D orders cash management with the batchers and drivers.

· Working with United sales personnel, interact with customers to develop long-term relationships and assist in educating customers on optimal ordering practices, add-on products, and concrete best practices.

· Assist with any other tasks or projects required to meet company objectives.

· Support and back up Plant Managers as required.

Health & Safety, and Environmental

· Follow company Health & Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

· Perform and document daily inspections as per company policies and procedures.

· Report workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents which may involve personal injury or property damage as per company policies and procedures.

Qualification Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· >2 years experience in logistics and dispatch environment in the GTA.

· Familiar with the GTA communities, roads and map network.

· Be able to work irregular hours such as nights and weekend work.

· Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel and Word and dispatch software.
