SUMMARY:

Looking for full time and part-time positions for the role of Cook at The Park on Anderton Road in Comox. The Park is a par 3 golf course, RV park, and restaurant (Vintage Bistro). You can read more about the Vintage Bistro here: https://thepark.crownisle.com/dining/. As the Cook, you will work in a small, fast paced kitchen where you and your team will take responsibility for the cleanliness, organization, and the quality of food you prepare for your Guests. The Park has quite a small team and therefore rely on everyone to do their part. As all team members of The Park do, you will need to be reliable (show up when scheduled) and help out other areas when not needed to cook (ie. wash dishes).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and effectively. Keep track of kitchen inventory and promote food safety. Maintain cleanliness and order, serve as liaison officers between the kitchen and Servers, and ensure the workplace is compliant with local safety standards. Other duties and responsibilities that Cooks need to excel at include:

  • Taking orders from the wait staff and preparing food according to customer preference
  • Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and order
  • Monitoring and managing cooking tools and ingredients
  • Adjusting to accommodate clients with specific diet and health concerns.
  • Setting up the workstation
  • Assist with opening or closing the kitchen

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FOODSAFE LEVEL 1 is required prior to employment.
  • Serving it Right Certificate is an asset.
  • A high school diploma, GED, or its equivalent.
  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or a related field or have completed a three-year apprenticeship program may have an advantage over candidates without this education and experience.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a cook- extensive on-site training is offered.
