Based in Windsor, ON and servicing customers in Essex, Kent and Lambton counties as well at the GTA, Merchants provides a broad array of products (including Restroom & Janitorial Supplies, Industrial Packaging, PPE/Safety Supplies, Food Service Disposables and many others) to a wide range of customers. Due to our planned growth, Merchants is currently seeking the following professional to join our team.

Position:

Warehouse Worker/Delivery Driver.

Please note: This is a Part Time position but may later become Full-Time based on performance and upcoming retirements. Upon attaining full time position, benefits include health and pension will be available as per our Teamsters contract.

Hours of Work: Hours will vary but will from Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm as well as the afternoon shift, ending time will be 1:30am.

This Job Position requires you to work inside our Warehouse and at times you may need to drive our company trucks and make deliveries to our Customers.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Follow all safety regulations and procedures

- Maintain the truck and its equipment in accordance with all federal, provincial, local and company guidelines on safety and vehicle operation

- Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports, route sheets, logs and other documentation as required

- Drive the truck to and from designated Customers in a safe friendly, respectful and professional manner

- Lifting Boxes and related packaging components in the range of, but not limited to 1 to 23kg

- Unload (and load) materials at Customer facilities as well as at Merchants Paper

- Follow and respect all Customer-prescribed safety rules and delivery policies

- Communicate with Supervisors, Managers and Co-Workers on routing parameters

- Provide customer service to clients during the pick-up process

- Assist in receiving, picking, packing and overall warehouse activities and validate all pre-arranged orders efficiently and accurately

- Pick product listed on pick tickets and verify product picked

- Verify product you’re delivering and/or picking up

- Excellent driving record, Class G license and good working knowledge of City Streets and Businesses

Key Competencies

- Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalency certificate or Post-secondary education.

- Must possess a valid D License w/ minimum of three years driving experience and a clean driving record.

- Forklift Certificate is preferred but not required and Warehouse/Forklift Operation experience an asset.

- Geographical route knowledge of a territory ranging from Windsor throughout Southwestern Ontario an asset
