Location: Bridgeland and Killarney in Calgary.

Hours: 20 to 40 hours a week based on availability. Applicants must be available on weekends and some evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Pharmacy Licensees and other Pharmacy Team Members, you will be responsible for:

  • Dispensing prescribed pharmaceuticals to patients, health care professionals and advise them on signs, side effects, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and following all practices according to Federal and Provincial Law.
  • Supervising Pharmacy technicians and assistants in those functions that are authorized by government and professional regulations.
  • Being proactive in your conduct at work to improve the pharmacy’s productivity.
  • Ensuring there is proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensuring there is proper disposal of medical waste and expired prescriptions.
  • Willing to partake in external pharmacy support programs. FloF
  • Ordering and maintaining stock of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Ensuring all records are maintained and uo to date including comprehensive error reporting
  • Providing customer service that will promote the sale of merchandise in the pharmacy.
  • To assist, if required, the Manager in preparing reports, compiling statistics, processing invoices, and preparing annual budgets.
  • Maintaining medication profile of patients.
  • Providing information to customers on selection and use of non-prescription medication.
  • Managing asset protection to prevent shrink.
  • Pharmacists will be provided with pharmacy assistants.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid license to practice in Alberta.
  • APA and authorization to administer injections is required
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Min 4 years of dispensing experience.
  • Experience with Kroll/Telus Health is an asset.
  • Excellent ability to make decisions and think independently.
  • Proven ability to drive and build the business, lead by example and build community relationships.
  • Prioritize activities quickly in response to changing initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Pharmacy systems a definite asset.
  • Available for weekend shifts.
