Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Cow Boss to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of animal husbandry, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate farm machinery effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the cattle herd: calving, branding, breeding, gathering and moving. Using low-stress handling practices.
  • Rotational grazing and rangeland management.
  • Shipping of cattle.
  • Selection of livestock for sales and purchases (cows, calves, bulls).
  • Monitor animal health – Observe, detect, and treat diseases, injuries, and health problems. Routine herd health procedures such as vaccinations and deworming.
  • When necessary, operate farm machinery, including tractors, plows, mowers, balers, sprayers, earthmoving equipment, or trucks.
  • Creating, monitoring, and maintenance of accurate livestock records, including breeding, performance, and health.
  • Develop and implement feeding programs for cattle and steers.
  • Fencing and fence maintenance.
  • Facility upkeep, including bedding, manure handling, and maintaining other ranch infrastructure.

Experience

  • Previous experience in animal husbandry or a similar role is required.
  • Horsemanship.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair farm machinery is highly desirable.
  • Strong work ethic.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
