Full job description

Before we talk numbers, let’s talk reality.

We want to be transparent from the start, because the right fit matters for everyone.

This is not a sit-and-drive freight role. As an Owner Operator with us, you’ll be involved in livestock handling, scraping trailers and working in all weather conditions.

We share this upfront so you can decide early if it’s the right fit. For Owner Operators who are comfortable staying active and having responsibility beyond driving, this work is stable and worthwhile.

The Role

· Hauling livestock (primarily hogs) with your tractor and our trailers

· Active involvement in animal handling

· Working in rural locations

· Canada Only or Canada US lanes available (up to 14 nights on the road)

Requirements:

· Valid Class 1 License

· At least 1 year of articulated tractor/trailer experience

· Comfortable with physical, hands-on work

· Strong safety mindset

· Livestock experience is an asset (but we’ll train the right person!)

What We Offer:

· Stable work, with 7,000-9,000 miles per month

· Average of $2.80-3.00/mile (based on all pay items divided by miles on our fleet)

· Quarterly safe driving bonus of up to $0.05/mile

· $3,500 start-up subsidy to help cover initial onboarding and setup costs (paid over 1 year)

· Fuel cards provided, all discounts passed to the Owner Operator

· Reliable monthly pay schedule

· 24/7 dispatch support

· On-site wash and repair facilities

As a community leader and an industry leading employer, Steve's Livestock Transport is committed to establishing an inclusive workplace that values and promotes diversity. Consistent with our values, we create a supportive work environment that encourages everyone to reach their fullest potential.
