Full job description

Job Summary:

The Mold Maker will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and spotting various sized metal work pieces during the course of the mold/die build or repair, according to customer specifications and requirements. Reporting to and under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, the Mold Maker will work to ensure that all molds/dies are built to the highest standards of quality and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, fit and spot various sized metal work pieces according to customer specifications and requirements

Troubleshoot tooling issues in all aspects of the tool build

Work with little to no supervision

Operate overhead crane & hoist systems safely

Lineup of outsource vendors

Read and interpret blueprints and 3D models

Ensure all molds/dies are built to the highest standards of quality and precision

Welding of tool steels is considered an asset

Qualifications:

Minimum education level preferred is Grade 12 or equivalent

Successful completion of a Machining or Mould/Die Making course through a recognized College or other learning institute is considered an asset

Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the manufacturing of injection and compression tooling

Strong mathematical skills

Good attendance record

Good analytical skills

Physical ability to handle all tools and equipment as necessary

Available to do shift work (days, nights, weekends)

Ability to work overtime as required

Ability to drive and have their own reliable transportation
