Role Overview

Join our growing team as a Litigation Claims Adjuster for a National Retail Client. In this remote role, you’ll apply your expertise to meaningful work, and play an important role in delivering exceptional service when it matters most.

As a Litigation Adjuster, you will manage a portfolio of litigated claims from assignment through resolution, applying strong technical claims knowledge, sound judgment, and effective negotiation skills. In this role, you will collaborate with legal counsel, clients, and internal teams to assess coverage, liability, damages, and settlement opportunities while ensuring claims are handled in accordance with best practices, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate litigation claims related to retail incidents, gathering all pertinent evidence and documentation.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, legal representatives, and other parties to reach fair and timely resolutions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, legal teams, vendors, and internal departments to coordinate claim handling processes.
  • Analyze case details to determine liability, damages, and appropriate reserve levels.
  • Maintain organized records of all claim activities, correspondence, and documentation for audit purposes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and professionally throughout the claims process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies for complex or high-value claims.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of technical claims handling experience in commercial casualty claims.
  • Knowledge of CGL commercial claims would be an asset.
  • Experience in evaluating and quantifying bodily injury losses.
  • Experience in multiline claims, complex claim handling, legal proceedings and litigation management.
  • CIP designation or working towards CIP designation is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Independent Adjuster License in your home province along with the ability to onbtain multiple provincial licenses.
  • Post Secondary education in an insurance related field will be considered an asset.
  • A team player with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical ability.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong PC skills including application based skills.
  • Complete continuing education courses as required by Crawford and Company, province, or professional trade association.
