We are looking for a Product Designer – Outdoor Lighting to join our lighting design team and contribute to the development and improvement of our outdoor lighting product portfolio.
This is a hands-on position for a designer with 3 to 5 years of professional experience who is interested in developing physical products and building a career in the outdoor lighting industry.
Working closely with the Senior Product Designer, Product Management, Engineering, and external suppliers, you will help transform concepts into production-ready outdoor lighting products, from initial design development through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine outdoor lighting product concepts from initial ideas through production.
- Create 3D models, renderings, drawings, and design documentation.
- Prepare design concepts and presentations for internal review.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to develop prototypes and production samples.
- Review samples and provide detailed design feedback.
- Make design modifications based on testing, feedback, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure designs are functional, durable, and manufacturable for outdoor applications.
- Support product development and new product introduction projects.
- Research materials, finishes, components, and manufacturing processes suitable for outdoor lighting products and environments.
- Participate in prototype reviews and product testing.
- Help maintain product specifications, drawings, and design documentation.
- Support improvements to existing outdoor lighting products.
- Work within established brand and product design guidelines.
- Manage assigned projects and deliverables according to established timelines.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in product design.
- Experience designing physical products.
- Strong 3D CAD skills and experience with rendering/visualization tools.
- Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to create clear and detailed technical drawings.
- Strong sense of aesthetics, proportion, materials, and finishes.
- Good understanding of design for manufacturing.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with designers, engineers, suppliers, and other departments.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience in outdoor lighting, lighting, furniture, consumer products, or other manufactured products is an asset.
- Interest in materials, finishes, performance, durability, and the specific requirements of outdoor environments is an asset.
- Strong communication skills in English; French is an asset.

Nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) Designer de produits – Éclairage extérieur pour se joindre à notre équipe de design d’éclairage et contribuer au développement et à l’amélioration de notre gamme de produits d’éclairage extérieur.
Il s’agit d’un poste pratique et axé sur la conception, destiné à un(e) designer possédant 3 à 5 ans d’expérience professionnelle, qui souhaite développer des produits physiques et bâtir une carrière dans l’industrie de l’éclairage extérieur.
En collaboration étroite avec le/la Designer de produits principal(e), les équipes de gestion de produits et d’ingénierie ainsi que des fournisseurs externes, vous contribuerez à transformer des concepts en produits d’éclairage extérieur prêts pour la production, de la conception initiale jusqu’à la mise en production.
Responsabilités principales

Développer et affiner des concepts de produits d’éclairage extérieur, de l’idée initiale jusqu’à la production.

Créer des modèles 3D, des rendus, des dessins et de la documentation de conception.

Préparer des concepts de design et des présentations pour les révisions internes.

Collaborer avec les fournisseurs et les fabricants afin de développer des prototypes et des échantillons de production.

Examiner les échantillons et fournir des commentaires détaillés sur la conception.

Apporter des modifications aux designs en fonction des essais, des commentaires reçus, des coûts et des exigences de fabrication.

Collaborer avec l’équipe d’ingénierie afin de s’assurer que les designs sont fonctionnels, durables et adaptés à la fabrication pour des applications extérieures.

Soutenir les projets de développement et de lancement de nouveaux produits.

Effectuer des recherches sur les matériaux, les finis, les composantes et les procédés de fabrication adaptés aux produits d’éclairage extérieur et aux différents environnements extérieurs.

Participer aux révisions de prototypes et aux essais de produits.

Contribuer à la mise à jour des spécifications, des dessins et de la documentation de conception des produits.

Soutenir l’amélioration des produits d’éclairage extérieur existants.

Respecter les lignes directrices établies en matière d’image de marque et de design de produits.

Gérer les projets et livrables assignés en respectant les échéanciers établis.
Qualifications

Diplôme collégial ou universitaire en design industriel, design de produits, design mécanique ou dans un domaine connexe.

3 à 5 ans d’expérience professionnelle en conception de produits.

Expérience en conception de produits physiques.

Excellentes compétences en modélisation 3D et expérience avec des outils de rendu et de visualisation.

Bonne compréhension des matériaux et des procédés de fabrication.

Capacité à créer des dessins techniques clairs et détaillés.

Excellent sens de l’esthétique, des proportions, des matériaux et des finis.

Bonne compréhension des principes de conception pour la fabrication.

Grand souci du détail et solides aptitudes en résolution de problèmes.

Capacité à travailler en collaboration avec des designers, des ingénieurs, des fournisseurs et différents départements.

Excellentes compétences organisationnelles et capacité à gérer plusieurs projets simultanément.

Une expérience dans les domaines de l’éclairage extérieur, de l’éclairage, du mobilier, des produits de consommation ou d’autres produits manufacturés constitue un atout.

Un intérêt pour les matériaux, les finis, la performance, la durabilité et les exigences particulières liées aux environnements extérieurs constitue un atout.
