Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on ensuring optimal performance and safety of heavy equipment such as trucks, production lines, boats, forklifts, farm machinery, etc. The technician will work in a dynamic environment, providing expert service to keep equipment operational and minimize downtime.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
  • Conduct welding, assembly, and disassembly of components as needed for repairs or upgrades
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform repairs accurately and efficiently
  • Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes when necessary
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and technical drawings to troubleshoot complex problems
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with heavy-duty equipment in a commercial, transport, manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of excavators, cranes, Caterpillar machinery, forklifts, HVAC systems, farm machinery, and other industrial equipment
  • Hands-on experience with welding, electrical systems repair, schematics interpretation, and automotive repair techniques
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  • Experience with assembly/disassembly processes for complex machinery
  • Capable of performing heavy lifting safely in accordance with safety protocols
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills combined with customer service aptitude
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures for industrial equipment and familiarity with diagnostic software is preferred
  • Valid certifications related to heavy equipment operation or mechanic work are a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting Salary Range: $100,000-$120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
  • Extended health care, dental care, vision care, and life insurance.
  • On-site parking.

Work schedule:

  • Full-time: Monday-Fridays
  • Mornings, Days, evenings shifts or weekend shifts based on operational requirements.
  • Shift times may vary depending on business requirements.
