Experienced Restaurant Server / Potential Shift Manager

About Us

Tian He Chinese Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant proudly serving the Huntsville community. As we continue to grow, we are looking for experienced, dependable, and hardworking individuals to join our front-of-house team.

We are specifically seeking candidates with previous restaurant serving experience who can confidently handle a busy dining room, takeout orders, and customer service responsibilities.

We are also interested in individuals with strong leadership abilities who may be suitable for a future supervisory or management position.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
• Take dine-in, takeout, and telephone orders accurately.
• Manage multiple tables and orders during busy service periods.
• Become familiar with our menu and confidently assist customers.
• Process payments and operate the POS system.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant.
• Handle customer concerns professionally.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Work independently and support other team members as needed.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant serving experience is required.
• Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
• Confidence handling customers, telephone orders, and POS transactions.
• Ability to remain organized and professional during busy periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
• Availability for evenings and weekends.
• Valid Ontario Smart Serve certification is preferred.

Potential Management Opportunity

For candidates with previous supervisory or management experience, there may be an opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, including:

• Supervising front-of-house operations.
• Training and supporting staff.
• Coordinating shifts and daily operations.
• Maintaining service standards.
• Resolving customer concerns.
• Assisting with scheduling and opening/closing procedures.
• Working directly with ownership to improve restaurant operations.

Pay: $17.60-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44.0 per week
