Job Summary
We are seeking a Corporate Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join our Corporate practice group in our Vernon BC office (remote working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate).

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and collaborative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with lawyers, clients, government agencies, and internal teams to support a broad range of corporate transactions and filings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and draft corporate documentation relating to incorporations, amalgamations, continuances, dissolutions, restorations, dividend resolutions, and other corporate matters
  • Work with Corporate Commercial team in creating supporting documents for share and asset purchases/sales, reorganizations, financing transactions, and due diligence reviews
  • Prepare and file corporate registry documents for British Columbia and federal corporations
  • Conduct and coordinate due diligence searches, corporate reviews, and related correspondence
  • Process corporate transactions and registrations through BC Online, LTSA, ALF, and other electronic filing platforms
  • Maintain and update corporate records, minute books, and virtual corporate documentation systems
  • Monitor deadlines and maintain an effective bring-forward and file management system to ensure timely completion of filings and transactions
  • Liaise professionally with lawyers, clients, and internal departments regarding corporate matters and transaction requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited Legal Assistant or Paralegal program, or equivalent working experience;
  • Demonstrated experience with legal and corporate applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, BC Online, DocuSign, myLTSA. ALF knowledge is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
  • Strong organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and respond to a variety of requests while meeting deadlines.
