Full job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a legal administrative assistant in our Litigation department. Duties of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Drafting correspondence and legal documents
  • Scheduling examinations, applications, court dates, mediations, and trials
  • Preparing bills and invoices
  • Managing bring-forward system and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Collaborating with colleagues and clients on file progress
  • Communicating with clients
  • Reviewing and organizing medical briefs
  • Managing files through all stages of the legal process
  • Maintaining client files
  • Managing lawyers’ calendars
  • Scheduling meetings and appointments
  • Making travel arrangements and reservations
  • Other administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience working in litigation
  • Completion of a Legal Assistant program, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of BC court rules and procedures
  • Superb communication skills with proven ability to interact tactfully and be personable
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organized, and able to manage and anticipate competing priorities
  • Have excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to work independently

*Please note that salary is commensurate with experience.

Pay: $46,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
