Job Summary:
The Environmental Worker is responsible to the Director of Support Services. To assist in meeting the needs of the residents by providing a clean, safe, comfortable environment in accordance with the facility and departmental policies.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
- Must have a Nova Scotia Grade XII or equivalent and be able to follow verbal and written instructions without direct supervision
- Must have experience in housekeeping and laundry duties in Homes for Special Care
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform job duties with a minimum of supervision
- Must be able to work well with all levels of staff
- Must have empathy with the residents
- Must be a dependable and a responsible person
- Must not be allergic to cleaning products
- Must be able to read and understand labels
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
- Sewing ability is an asset
- Must be neat and clean
- Must wear uniforms and proper footwear
- Make up and jewelry to be conservative
