Full job description
Overview
A privately owned dental practice is looking for a professional Dental Administrator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, providing good patient service, and supporting the administrative functions of the office. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly, patient-focused environment where attention to detail and strong communication skills are valued.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using Dentrix or other scheduling software
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle patient inquiries efficiently
- Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Collect payments and process billing transactions securely
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Prepare and manage correspondence, forms, and other administrative documents
- Assist with front desk duties such as answering questions, providing directions, and addressing patient concerns
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, professional, and welcoming
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting preferred
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Office experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous
- Familiarity with front desk operations and administrative procedures in a medical or dental office
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
