Job Summary
Matrix is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Civil Surveyors to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land surveys, collecting data, and supporting construction and GIS projects. This role requires proficiency in surveying tools and software, along with strong data management skills. The Surveyor will play a vital role in ensuring accurate measurements and data collection to support project planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Report to Senior Surveyor for daily task schedule
  • Install required monitoring devices.
  • Provide ore material contact layout for pit loading tools
  • Provide drill pattern layout for drills
  • Asbuilt and layout surveys for buried utilities
  • Flying drone daily for asbuilts and volumes
  • Provide pit/dump limits and elevations layout
  • Pit ground control monument readings with Total Station

Requirements

  • Education: Post-secondary diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Survey Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of civil earthworks construction experience; open pit mining experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Deswik experience an asset
  • Trimble GPS and Access Controller Software experience required
  • Experience with DJI drones required
  • Transport Canada RPAS drone pilot certificate required
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • TBC and Trimble total station experience an asset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in remote field conditions and varying weather environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and data integrity.

Shift & Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts, approximately 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
  • 21 days on / 21 days off rotation.
  • FIFO from Edmonton charter hub to Nunavut remote site; on-site field presence required; some travel to project sites may be necessary.
