Lawn Care Technician and Apprenticeship Opportunity

Golden Services Ltd. is hiring a reliable and motivated Lawn Care Technician to join our team in Red Deer. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to build a career in landscaping and grounds maintenance. This position will also lead to winter work.

For the right candidate, we additionally offer the opportunity to pursue a Landscape Horticulturist apprenticeship, including support with apprenticeship registration and on-the-job training, subject to eligibility and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns
  • Perform spring and fall cleanups
  • Weed gardens and maintain flower beds
  • Plant, prune, and maintain trees and shrubs
  • Apply fertilizer and other lawn-care products safely
  • Operate lawn-care equipment and maintain tools
  • Provide friendly, professional service to customers
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures

Qualifications:

  • Previous lawn care, landscaping, or outdoor work experience is an asset
  • Valid driver’s licence and Vehicle is required
  • Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather
  • Physically able to lift, bend, stand, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in pursuing a landscaping apprenticeship is an asset but not neccesary
