Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as an RN (Registered Nurse) or RPN (Registered Practical Nurse) specializing in Tracheostomy and PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) Tube Care. This exciting role offers 12-hour shifts, both days and nights, providing critical nursing services in a patient-centered environment. You will deliver expert care to a cline with complex respiratory needs. This position is perfect for motivated nurses eager to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while working in a supportive, collaborative setting.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive tracheostomy care, including suctioning, tube maintenance, and emergency management to ensure airway patency and patient safety.
  • Administer PEG tube feedings, medication, and perform routine assessments to support nutritional needs and prevent complications.
  • Monitor vital signs, assess patient condition, and document findings accurately using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols and ensure all equipment is sanitized and functioning properly.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies or changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as an RN or RPN with the applicable licensing body.
  • Proven hospital or acute care experience, especially with respiratory or nutritional support patients.
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting individuals with complex medical needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to safety standards.
