Full job description
If you’re an experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) looking for a meaningful career move—and a change in lifestyle—Island Health welcomes you. What You’ll Do
At Island Health, MLAs directly impact patient care by collecting, processing and handling biological specimens, managing essential diagnostic data in fast-paced healthcare environments. Responsibilities and duties are:
- perform laboratory procedures and related clerical duties,
- blood and other specimen collection, prepare samples for analysis, distribution and storage of samples,
- perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis using colour-coded dipsticks and perform Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing where required.
What You Will Need to Apply
- Successful completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program.
- At least one year of recent, related experience.
- Valid BC Class 5 Vehicle License.
