In the role ofQuality Assurance Generalist working at the St. John’s Brewery, the successful candidate will be responsible for safely executing the shift quality tasks and supporting the quality team’s continuous improvement efforts. This individual is responsible for the monitoring, testing and procedures for the quality assurance systems across all operational units. This person will work with minimal supervision and requires knowledge in functions of quality control.
What You’ll Be Brewing:
- Act as SME for advanced QA problem-solving in support of operational teams throughout the brewery
- Performs integrity check monitoring of the execution of quality tasks by operational teams
- Performs central laboratory testing that measures QA results from the use of centrally driven quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Performs aseptic Microbiological sampling and plating.
- Effectively oversees the consistency of analytical outputs and calibration of instruments and processes responsible for these outputs. Provides advanced, non-routine chemical analysis in support of troubleshooting, problem solving, and addressing chronic QA issues.
- BA/BS in scientific or technical field; preferably food, flavor science, or equivalent is required
- 1 - 2 years’ experience as a Quality Analyst/Generalist in a Consumer-Packaged Goods environment. Or equivalent/related industry experience and position expertise
- Experience working in a unionized environment is required
- Experience in food or beverage industry is desired
- Knowledgeable on all relevant hygiene, health, and safety legislation (including environmental) and on safe working procedures
- Shifts - 3-week shift rotation – 80% of the time this is the rotation, while it varies for stat weeks and business needs – week 1 (five 8-hour shifts 6am-2pm; Mon-Fri), week 2 (five 8-hour shifts 7am-3pm Mon-Fri), week 3 (four 10-hour shifts 3pm-1am Mon-Thurs
