We are seeking certified Medical Laboratory Technologist for rotational contract placements in Iqaluit, Nunavut. This is core lab in the truest sense - hematology, chemistry, transfusion medicine and basic microbiology, often in the same shift, supporting emergency, inpatient and community care for the entire territory. Compensation, Travel & Perks:

$72.50-$80/hr (Incorporated)

Return airfare from your home base, fully covered accommodation, and a daily meal per diem.

$1,000 Referral Bonus: Earned upon completion of your referred technologist's first shift.

Role Overview:

As a Rotational Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will deliver core laboratory services across a broad scope of practice:

• Performing and validating testing across hematology, clinical chemistry, transfusion medicine and basic microbiology.

• Operating, calibrating and troubleshooting analyzers where vendor support is remote and turnaround cannot wait.

• Running quality control, documenting deviations, and maintaining accreditation-standard records.

• Managing blood product inventory, compatibility testing and issue under transfusion protocols.

• Prioritising STAT and emergency specimens in a setting where transfer south is measured in hours, not minutes.

• Collaborating with nursing, physicians and imaging colleagues as part of a small, tightly coordinated team.

• Providing respectful service to Inuit patients and families, often with interpreter support.
  

Requirements:

Licensure: Current CSMLS certification (General MLT) in good standing, and authorization to work in Canada. Registration with the applicable Canadian regulatory body is mandatory.

Clinical Experience: Minimum two years post-certification generalist experience across multiple disciplines. Prior rural, remote or Northern experience is a strong asset.

Core Competencies: Broad bench competence, strong troubleshooting instincts, and the confidence to work accurately with limited on-site backup. Adaptability and cultural humility are essential.

Certifications: Current CPR/BLS required. WHMIS and TDG are considered assets.

Clearances & Health Records:

Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations (x2), MMR, DTap, Hep B (or positive titres), and 2-step TB test.
