Concrete Quality Control Technician – Grande Prairie, AB

Knelsen Sand & Gravel Ltd. is seeking a full-time Concrete Quality Control Technician to join our Grande Prairie team. This role involves field and laboratory testing of concrete and aggregates, quality assurance activities, and supporting plant operations to ensure industry-leading standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Perform concrete field testing, including slump, air content, temperature, and density.
  • Conduct sampling and testing in accordance with CSA and CCIL standards.
  • Prepare and coordinate compressive strength testing.
  • Perform aggregate testing, including moisture, gradation, and fracture testing.
  • Monitor batching accuracy and review mix designs.
  • Maintain testing records, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Support audits, certifications, and quality control programs.
  • Travel to plant and project locations as required.
  • Promote and comply with all company safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
  • ACI Level 1 Certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience in ready-mix concrete, aggregate testing, construction materials testing, quality control, civil construction, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
