We are currently seeking to fill a casual (6-month term), field position in the Materials Testing Laboratory at our Calgary office (6957 48th Street SE, Calgary, AB T2C 5A4)

About the Role

The job will consist of conducting concrete testing and sampling in the field and in the lab. Duties may also include soil and asphalt testing. The position will include working closely with the company's engineering staff and management group to complete testing and reports accurately and on time. The successful applicant will be trained in various concrete and soil testing as required and may be expected to travel to other Albertan locations from time to time. Some physical work should also be anticipated - the applicant will be expected to lift and carry equipment and materials samples (including buckets of soil) from onsite to their vehicle.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

  • Civil Engineering Diploma or other science-related education.
  • Valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Familiarity with sieve analysis and proctor testing is preferred (but not required).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
