Job Summary

Qeen Biotechnologies is looking for an Environmental Technician to help keep our GMP microbiology lab running clean, compliant, and smoothly. This role is central to maintaining the controlled environments our lab depends on - from cleaning and disinfection of GMP areas to environmental monitoring and routine equipment upkeep.

We're looking for someone reliable and detail-oriented, comfortable following strict procedures to the letter, and who takes pride in keeping a lab audit-ready every day. A background or coursework in science is important for understanding why the procedures matter - and if you've worked as a microbiology technician before, that's a real plus for a lab like ours.

What You'll Do:

Cleaning & GMP Area Maintenance

  • Clean and disinfect GMP-classified areas (cleanrooms, controlled areas, equipment surfaces) according to approved SOPs and GMP standards
  • Prepare and use cleaning/disinfecting agents correctly, including rotation schedules and contact times
  • Maintain gowning and behavioral compliance within classified areas
  • Support cleanroom qualification and requalification activities as needed

Environmental Monitoring

  • Perform routine environmental monitoring (viable and non-viable particle counts, surface and air sampling, personnel monitoring)
  • Read, record, and report environmental monitoring results accurately and on schedule
  • Flag excursions or trends promptly and support related investigations

Equipment Maintenance & Lab Operations

  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of lab and facility equipment
  • Support calibration and preventive maintenance schedules
  • Monitor and maintain consumables, supplies, and equipment logs so the lab runs without interruption
  • Assist with general lab upkeep and organization to support day-to-day operations

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records in accordance with GMP and data-integrity principles
  • Complete logbooks, checklists, and electronic records (LIMS/eQMS) as required
  • Participate in training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field
  • Basic science knowledge - comfortable understanding cleaning chemistry, contamination control, and why GMP procedures exist
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures precisely and consistently
  • Comfortable working in a controlled/cleanroom environment, including gowning requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and reliable documentation habits

Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a technician in a microbiology or GMP laboratory
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring techniques (viable/non-viable sampling)
  • Experience with LIMS/eQMS or other electronic documentation systems
  • Basic equipment maintenance or troubleshooting experience

You're the kind of person who:

  • Takes real pride in a clean, well-organized, audit-ready lab
  • Notices when something's off and says something
  • Follows procedures consistently, even when no one's watching
  • Enjoys hands-on, practical work and keeping things running smoothly

Pay: $41,600.00-$45,760.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • On-site parking
  • RRSP match

Work Location: In person
