Job Title: Sample Weigher

Reports to: Sample Weigher Manager

Department: Minerals Canada

Location: Vancouver, B.C.

Fixed Term for 6 months

Night Shift: 11pm-7am and Afternoon Shift: 3pm-11pm


Basic Purpose:


Reporting to the Sample Weighing Supervisor, the Sample Weigher, will be responsible for the accurate weighing of client samples in order to prepare for the next step of the sample analysis. This individual will handle movement and organization of sample boxes for production and provide accurate record keeping of client samples.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Ensure efficient and accurate weighing of client samples into test tubes or other lab-ware sequence
  • Safely organize and move sample boxes for production
  • Accurately record sample data through written records or through internal systems
  • Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures, Upstream Minerals (UM) Management System Policies and Procedures and ISO standards applicable to the Mineralogical Technician position
  • Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned or required from time to time

The salary range for this role is $21.51 - $24.00 depending on the shifts.


Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
