Job description:

MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.

This position will be located at our head office in Langley, BC. We are looking for a dedicated and detail orientated self-starter who has the following skills and experience:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Geochem weighing in accordance with documented standard operation procedures.
  • Oversee weighing team’s day-to-day safety, production and work performance.
  • Oversee and maintain daily balance verification and production record.
  • Provide training to new team members.
  • Coordinate with digestion and specialty assay team members and staff from other departments to achieve the highest productivity.
  • Communicate and report general laboratory issues to the Geochem Supervisor as appropriate.
  • Perform daily weighing production calculation.
  • Assist in monthly CRM inventory counting.
  • Assist in ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 audit.
  • Organize and schedule the cleanliness of weighing workspace.
  • Perform other duties as required by Management.​

Requirements:

  • Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English.
  • Detail oriented and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Diploma in Chemical Sciences / Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a wet chemistry preparation facility at a commercial lab is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be fit and able to perform the inherent requirements of the job.
