Full job description

Sinai Health is looking for an experienced laboratory professional with previous leadership experience to join our team as a Supervisor, Diagnostic Medical Genetics. With new genetics methodologies and technologies on the horizon, you’ll join an enthusiastic team driving continuous innovation in Medical Genetics. This is your chance to lead change, contribute to meaningful advancements, and elevate DMG services in a hospital environment that values collaboration and progress.
Is this you?
You are a leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, champions service, humanity and inclusiveness, and wants to ensure that teams operate efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. You like to mentor and this is demonstrated by your ability to support staff by providing guidance on handling of complex cases, addressing workflow challenges, and ensuring technologists have the resources they need. You take initiative in refining protocols, sharing insights with peers across multiple hospitals to drive innovation in genetic testing.
Balancing administrative depth with operational awareness is a genuine strength of yours. You anticipate workflow bottlenecks before they surface and move quickly to resolve them, keeping services running without interruption. Strong time management allows you to effectively balance competing priorities, from staffing adjustments and payroll to attendance tracking and performance management, without losing momentum. The result is a team and a unit that runs with consistency and purpose.

  • Ensure completion of quality assurance activities and initiate timely adaptations to ensure quality control is maintained
  • Participate in professional development, teaching/educational activities, safety and quality improvement programs to ensure excellence in the provision of service
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment, often under stressful conditions
  • Knowledge of quality control methods, accreditation requirements, and an understanding of how to develop metrics and benchmarks
