Job Description

  • Sample homogenization, extraction and extract cleanup
  • Performing routine laboratory tasks in support of all analytical chemists including operation of rotovaps, soxhlets, manifolds and other laboratory equipment; solvent rinsing glassware, preparing reagents and packing chromatographic columns.
  • Recording accurate and complete routine data on work-up sheets to provide a complete legal history of the samples.
  • Become proficient within one or more of the lab groups – Sample Prep, Extraction, Cleanup, LC and Technical Group.
  • Training and mentoring of peers in methods and standard operating procedures.
  • Apply method approved additional extract cleanup steps as required.

Qualifications
  • Education: Technical Diploma or BSc. in Chemistry or related science
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve common goals and objectives;
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work;
  • Highly organized, self- motivated and energetic.
  • Willingness to participate in flexible work schedules (including evenings and weekends);
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Candidates must be proficient in using several types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
