Qualifications

MINIMAL FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related study area, including laboratory analysis techniques.

OR

  • Completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with one years = directly-related experience.

OR

  • High school completion with job-related options with a minimum of four years = directly-related experience.

EXPIERENCE:

  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Molecular Biology: PCR, qPCR, rt-PCR, GE, ELISA, FISH, IHC.
  • Cell Culture: Tissue culture, Transfection.
  • Laboratory Operations: Biological/Chemical inventory management, LIMS, and quality compliance (WHMIS).
  • Microscopy & Imaging: Super-resolution (SIM, PALM), LIve cell imaging, Confocal, Fluorescence, Zeiss Laser-Dissection; Proficient in Zeiss Zen, ARIVIS, and MATLAB Granulometry.
  • A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
OTHER JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • French language skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Examine lamin A/C protein-dependent induction of cell death in multiple myeloma.
  • Perform cell culture, proliferation, cell death and chromosome painting assays.
  • Perform molecular biology, live cell imaging, 3D imaging, super resolution imaging.
  • Analyze imaging data with dedicated software (ZEN, Arivis, Granulometry, ChromoView).
  • Assist with orders, chemical inventory, and imaging.
  • May be required to preform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
