The Opportunity: Fire Assay Technician

Fire Assay Technicians contribute to Actlabs success by performing a variety of tasks in the mineral analysis process.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

· Carry out Fire Assay procedures i.e. fluxing, fusing and cupelling samples as per written procedures

· Mix dry chemicals, load trays into a furnace (working in a hot environment) and pour samples

· Complete required documentation and logs

· Follow QC procedures accurately and safely

· Maintain a clean work environment

· Organize waste disposal

· Strict adherence with the company’s Health & Safety and Professional Conduct Policies

· Any other tasks as determined

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Educational Background: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Experience in Fire Assay is not required, but can be an asset. On the job training is provided
  • Communication Skills: Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English. Read, understand, follow work instructions and guidelines accurately and safely.

· Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English

· Exhibit excellent interpersonal and computer skills

· Ability to problem solve, multi-task, meet deadline and perform in a fast-paced work environment to achieve turnaround requirement

· Proven time management skills, quality driven and attention to detail

· Reliable, organized and proactive

· Ability to work well as a team member and independently

· Excellent eye-hand co-ordination and manual dexterity to perform tasks

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, clean shaven in order to safely wear PPE

· Rotating shift and extended hours may be required
