Full job description

Mount Polley Mining Corporation (MPMC) is currently recruiting for a Process Plant Operator/Technician for immediate employment. The work schedule will be seven (7) 12- hour shifts of work, Wednesday - Tuesday followed by seven (7) days of rest. The work week will alternate from days to nights.

Job Description

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Process Plant Operator/Technician will carry out assignments relating to process operation, control, and quality assurance. Work will be conducted in plant and in the laboratory.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Work safely and in accordance with applicable legislation, company policy, standards and procedures.

Specific duties will include:

  • Operating and monitoring process equipment and reporting deficiencies promptly.
  • Conducting sample collection and preparation for laboratory analysis.
  • Conducting laboratory analysis of various product streams.
  • Conducting scheduled circuit checks and recording results on the daily report sheets.
  • Monitoring plant performance, including quality control strategies, to ensure our product meets the customer’s specifications.

· Encouraging and promoting continuous improvement by consistently looking for opportunities to improve work practices and procedures

  • Participate in ongoing coaching and training to develop operator skillsets.

Minimum Qualifications & Preferences

  • Secondary school
  • Previous process plant experience including grinding and dewatering is preferred.
  • Equipment experience will be considered an asset.
  • Lab experience will be considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.60 per hour

Expected hours: 84 per week
