Full job description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Casual Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a long-term care team in Prince George, BC.

The LPN will provide direct nursing care to residents, support care planning, administer medications, and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, respectful, and resident-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with resident care plans and established policies and procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
  • Complete resident assessments and monitor changes in health status.
  • Respond appropriately to changes in resident condition and communicate concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Provide direction and support to Health Care Assistants/Resident Care Aides as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using PointClickCare (PCC) or similar electronic documentation systems.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, pharmacy, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Participate in care planning, medication reviews, and other clinical processes as required.
  • Follow infection prevention and control, workplace safety, and quality-of-care standards.
  • Support residents with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Qualifications

  • Current registration and good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an LPN.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Previous long-term care or seniors' care experience is preferred.
  • Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) is an asset.
  • Strong medication administration, assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting residents living with dementia is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Availability

This is a casual position. Candidates should have flexibility to provide coverage for day, evening and/or night shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.

Pay: $32.84-$35.26 per hour
