We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Director of Business Development to lead our sales initiatives and drive growth across our local offices. In this role, you will be the face of our firm in your designated local geography, tasked with building robust relationships with private companies. You will leverage your strong financial acumen to understand clients' complex needs and articulate the full breadth of our services. Furthermore, you will act as a key liaison, working seamlessly with internal partners to deliver comprehensive solutions, while leading the overall sales function, running key meetings, and reporting on pipeline metrics.
Relationship Building & Market Expansion
- Proactively identify, target, and build strong relationships with key decision-makers and C-level executives at private companies within the local geography.
- Act as a brand ambassador, networking extensively within the local business community to uncover new opportunities and expand market share.
- Establish and execute territory-specific business development strategies to expand market presence and revenue opportunities.
- Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for prospective and existing business partners.
- Attend networking events, industry conferences, community engagements, and stakeholder meetings to increase visibility and generate leads.
Sales Leadership & Pipeline Management
- Lead the overarching sales function for the local offices you cover, establishing a culture of high performance and strategic growth.
- Manage and coordinate critical sales meetings, presentations, and pitches to prospective clients.
- Rigorously track and manage the sales pipeline, providing regular reporting on key initiatives, conversion rates, and revenue projections to senior leadership.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities and ensure timely progression through the sales process.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish sales goals, forecasts, and performance metrics.
Strategic Client Engagement & Financial Acumen
- Utilize deep financial acumen to analyze client business models, understand their financial objectives, and identify areas where our firm can add quantifiable value.
- Confidently discuss and cross-sell our full breadth of services, tailoring the value proposition to address specific financial and operational challenges.
- Work closely with internal partners, operational teams, marketing, and leadership to align business development activities with organizational priorities.
- Coordinate internal resources to support client engagement, proposal development, and implementation activities.
- Facilitate communication between external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and relationship management.
- Contribute insights on market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence to support strategic planning.
Internal Collaboration & Partnership
- Partner collaboratively with internal subject matter experts, practice leaders, and delivery teams to craft comprehensive, multi-service proposals.
- Facilitate smooth handoffs from the sales process to the execution teams, ensuring client expectations are clearly communicated and met.
- Drive internal alignment on go-to-market strategies and participate in strategic planning sessions.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in B2B business development, sales leadership, or a related field, preferably within professional services, commercial real estate, or financial services.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of corporate finance, financial statements, and business operations, with the ability to engage in high-level financial discussions with business owners and executives.
- Relationship Management: Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining a network of contacts within private companies and local business communities.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and written communication skills. Ability to translate complex service offerings into compelling value propositions.
- Leadership: Experience leading sales initiatives, managing pipelines (CRM proficiency), and reporting on key performance indicators.
- Collaboration: Highly collaborative team player with a history of successfully navigating matrixed organizations and working alongside internal partners to close deals.
