A well-established and growing company in the premium tile and flooring industry is seeking an experienced Design & Business Development Specialist to to drive showroom growth, strengthen industry relationships, and create exceptional customer experiences.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated design professional who is passionate about building relationships, exploring new business opportunities, and becoming a trusted partner within the interior design and construction community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for growing our presence in the GTA market by developing relationships with interior designers, architects, builders, contractors, and industry partners while leading an inspiring showroom experience.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Growth

  • Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the design, builder, renovation, and construction communities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with interior designers, architects, contractors, developers, and industry partners.
  • Develop partnerships and referral opportunities to increase showroom traffic and project sales.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and community activities.
  • Organize and host showroom events, designer evenings, product launches, and educational sessions.

Customer Experience & Design Consultation

  • Provide professional design guidance and product recommendations to homeowners and industry professionals.
  • Understand customer needs and translate design concepts into product solutions.
  • Build long-term relationships by providing exceptional service and industry expertise.
  • Ensure every customer interaction reflects the company's commitment to quality and service.

Showroom Presentation

  • Maintain a visually inspiring showroom environment that reflects current design trends and premium brand standards.
  • Coordinate product displays, samples, merchandising, and showroom presentation.

Qualifications

  • Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or related design background preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in interior design, tile, flooring, kitchen and bath, stone, furniture, or luxury showroom environments.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and generate business through networking and referrals.
  • Strong understanding of residential design trends, materials, and finishes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and self-driven with a strong ownership mindset.
  • Comfortable hosting events and representing the company within the design community.
  • Existing relationships with GTA interior designers, architects, builders, and contractors are a strong asset.
  • Leadership or team mentoring experience is preferred.
