Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join our close-knit work family available immediately out of our Head Office in Port Coquitlam. We are a family-based company looking for a unique individual with a team player mentality.

We are looking for a well- rounded individual who is passionate about design and interior/ exterior spaces as well as has strong organizational skills, able to work independently and as a team alongside of our project managers and site supervisors.

The ideal candidate has experience with residential millwork drawings in AutoCAD, with a strong skillset in kitchen and bathroom design. The individual will lead client meetings and communications, understand how to conduct site visit and take measurements for the purposes of design and materials, prepare renderings for client approvals, prepare and complete construction measurements and assist in ordering products/ source product suggestions/ build specification documents for approvals and organize all design aspect of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend client meetings in the office/ design centre and lead the client through the points of the design process from start to finish
  • Compile thorough site measurements
  • Produce detailed drawing packages including floor plans, elevations & reflected ceiling plans
  • Product millwork drawings in CAD, send to millwork team and sign off all shop drawings
  • Compile specification lists and calculate materials costs
  • Source products and suggest designs and materials based on the client’s needs
  • Manage client and trade communications/expectations around project implementation
  • Manage project schedules & documentation for materials and design elements
  • Build relationships with our suppliers and industry partners
  • Work with millwork team to produce accurate drawings
  • Work with Project Manager and Site Super to adhere to project timelines and communicate back details with the client
  • Assist with customers on the design/ showroom floor

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience of millwork drawings, AutoCAD experience, leading residential and commercial interior design projects
  • Must be fluent in Sketch up, AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel and have a strong experience with 3-D renderings
  • Understand how to read blueprints and calculate measurements from drawings
  • Certification from an accredited institution
  • Tech Savvy and comfortable working on Apple devices - iPad, iPhone etc.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Access to a vehicle & possession of a valid BC driver's licence
  • Attention to detail, great time management

Pay: From $33.00 per hour
