Position Summary

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency in meal preparation. This role involves managing inventory, monitoring food waste, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to culinary standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of kitchen operations, and the ability to optimize workflows while upholding company standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage food and beverage inventory, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Seek opportunities to improve kitchen operations and processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain and enforce kitchen cleanliness standards, ensuring adherence to cleaning schedules.
  • Track and minimize food waste to improve cost efficiency.
  • Oversee prep and setup of workstations and equipment for smooth daily operations.
  • Cook and prepare breakfast and lunch dishes using various utensils and cooking equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all food and kitchen supplies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the food and beverage industry.
  • Understanding of culinary procedures and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
  • Experience in organizing and planning staff schedules, inventory management, and cost control.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position with early morning, weekend, and holiday availability required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-heat kitchen environment.
