With over 50 years in business, Benson has built a strong reputation for craftsmanship, reliability, and customer service across residential, commercial, and institutional projects.

Job Summary

To touch up installed kitchen cabinets and millwork on site in accordance with the site schedule and installation requirements. Making sure that deficiencies which cannot be fixed on site are communicated to the field foremen/field operations manager.

The Deficiency Service Technician is responsible for supporting the production of custom cabinetry and millwork products within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves working with materials, tools, and equipment to ensure products are built accurately, efficiently, and to company quality standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and takes pride in producing high-quality work. They contribute to a safe and collaborative workplace and are open to learning and developing new skills.

Reports to: Field Operations Manager/Quality Control Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

Cabinetry Assessment & Repair

  • Identify deficiencies in cabinetry products.
  • Perform on-site adjustments to installed components (doors, drawers, hardware).
  • Complete cosmetic repairs including:
  • Filling chips, dents, and surface damage
  • Caulking
  • Re-graining and blending laminate or veneer finishes
  • Touching up painted and prefinished surfaces
  • Applying wax, epoxy, and colour‑matched repair systems
  • Mixing and matching colours to achieve seamless results
  • Restore damaged cabinetry components to a “like‑new” appearance.

Technology & Documentation

  • Use company platforms (e.g., Smartsheet).
  • Use client platforms (e.g., Procore).
  • Support turnover activities and inspection readiness.

Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with the Foreman, inspectors, clients, superintendents, and other trades.
  • Maintain professionalism in all jobsite interactions.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow COR‑compliant safety standards.
  • Adhere to Work Alone and Safe Driving policies.
  • Comply with all site‑specific safety procedures.

This position is ideal for individuals committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction. Applicants should be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute positively to our team environment.

3 month contract, 40 hrs/week. Possibility of contract being extended.

Hours: M - F, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with some flexibility

Hourly rate: $28 - $32
