Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team! The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children aged 3-5. This role involves implementing daily lessons as planned by the lead teacher, fostering social and emotional development, and ensuring a safe and supportive classroom setting. Our play-based program looks to get students ready for kindergarten and instil a love of learning to last a lifetime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the children’s program based on the philosophy “Learning Through Play”. This includes leading and supervising the program sessions as directed by the Lead Teacher.
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning thematic units to develop social, emotional, and academic knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
  • Organize the artwork created by the students throughout the year into a scrapbook for each student.
  • Assist in the preparations for the classes including materials, circle time, special daily activities
  • Assist in contacting parents or respond to any parent inquiries throughout the year (including but not limited to discussions on developmental concerns, disruptive behavior, etc.).
  • Attend monthly board meetings and events such as Open House (Evening availability required)
  • Beginning and end of year classroom set up/take down. Work to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom and material.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Educator Level 3 (or related field)
  • Preferred- Bachelor of Education or early childhood diploma/degree
  • Preferred 2 years experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting
  • CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerability Check (dated within 6 months of hiring date)
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Passion for working with young children

Pay: $2,700.00-$2,850.00 per month
