Full job description

Renert School is a progressive private school in Calgary dedicated to nurturing students’ interests and passions. It is ranked as one of Alberta's top independent schools.

We seek out teachers who inspire and create meaningful, lasting impact in their students’ lives. We are looking for educators who think broadly about teaching, bring creativity to their practice, and are willing to challenge conventional approaches.

We are currently looking for passionate Elementary teachers to join our team in September 2026, working primarily with Grades 2–4 in Literacy and Writing. The ideal candidate is someone who can ignite curiosity, foster a genuine love of reading and writing, and engage students deeply with language, structure, and style. Experience with differentiated instruction is essential. Our program is built on well-established, proven methodologies, and we expect teachers to integrate thoughtfully into this pedagogical environment.

At Renert School, we believe in teaching by experts. This role is focused on the Humanities (ELA and Social Studies). If you are an English enthusiast who finds energy in all aspects of elementary literacy, and who is excited to share that energy with students in a creative, intellectually engaging environment, this position will be a strong fit.

Successful applicants:

  • Demonstrate a genuine care for children and a strong understanding of their emotional and developmental needs.
  • Bring deep expertise in literacy instruction, along with a clear and infectious passion for the subject.
  • Have a proven record of effective teaching practice and a strong sense of what works in the classroom.
  • Are committed to meaningful, transformative education.
  • Work well as part of a collaborative teaching team.

Please submit a resume and cover letter outlining how you meet the requirements of the position to Heather Ponte (heather.ponte@renertschool.ca). Please also include your university transcripts.
