Full job description

Who is Barmetrix?

At Barmetrix, we are the premium stocktake and inventory company for bars and restaurants in Vancouver.

We conduct on-site bar audits and collaborating closely with our clients to minimize losses and boost profitability. With our assistance, inventory management becomes more efficient, allowing bar managers and owners to focus on core operations while significantly reducing losses attributed to waste, spillage, and theft.

Attention Early Birds:

This is a unique opportunity for you!

People interested in this position are responsible for inventorying stock at bars and restaurants using our proprietary technology. Auditors weigh products (e.g., bottles, kegs) and perform an accurate inventory count using a hand-held scanner.

We work Monday - Friday starting early (by 6am) and we’re finished around noon (depending on how efficient you are). You’ll have your afternoons and evenings to do as you please!

This position is part-time and may lead to full-time.

Great for Students who have their mornings free!

What Does an Auditor Do?

We go into different BARS BEFORE THEY OPEN to count and weigh LIQUOR, WINE & BEER using a hand-held scanner, digital scales & laptop. Initially, you’ll go into a location as a part of a team, but as you progress, you may audit an entire location by yourself.

Once you’ve finished counting a bar's inventory, you’ll move on to the next location. The schedule varies, but you’ll typically audit 2-4 different bars each day. All locations are located within the Vancouver and Lower Mainland area.

As a condition of employment, you must have dependable transportation to and from each location, and a cell phone.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently travel to different client bar/restaurant locations in the Metro Vancouver area as assigned.
  • Provide regularly scheduled inventory audits of all beer, wine, and liquor in the establishment.
  • Perform an accurate inventory audit using proprietary computer technology and furnished equipment.
  • Follow all guidelines, policies, and procedures, ensuring the utmost integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in every aspect of your role as a Barmetrix employee.

Requirements:

The candidate we’re looking for is a bit tech-savvy, is a "high-energy" person, has great organizational and communication skills, and can work with speed and accuracy. Prior experience working in a bar or restaurant is a plus, but not mandatory.

Some physical work is required. You must be able to:

  • Move quickly through each storage section
  • Lift a beer keg several inches off the ground & set it on a scale. (We’ll teach you how, but they can weigh up to 165 pounds)
  • Work inside a chilled cooler for extended periods
  • Stand, kneel, bend, twist, and/or lift for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Reliability & punctuality (Up and out the door early!)
  • Own or have access to dependable transportation in and around the Denver area
  • A strong work ethic in individual and team work environments
  • Ability to work well with Barmetrix staff, as well as with client staff.
  • Must be willing to learn continuously and work at a *fast pace*!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • On-site parking

Flexible language requirement:

  • French not required

Work Location: In person
