Audemus Law Firm PC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Associate Lawyer or Articling Student to join our team.

The successful candidate will work closely with our lead counsel and have the opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation, review, and drafting of legal documents, including pleadings, court documents, legal briefs, research memoranda, contracts, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents or instruments.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis and prepare research memoranda as required.
  • Assist counsel with case preparation, transactions, and day-to-day legal matters.
  • Review and organize legal documents, evidence, correspondence, and other file materials.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized physical and electronic client files.
  • Assist with document management, data entry, proofreading, and administrative matters related to legal files.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, third parties, and other professionals.
  • Answer and handle telephone calls and client inquiries with professionalism and appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Assist with other legal and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • For Junior Associate Lawyer: A JD or LLB degree from an accredited law school in a common-law jurisdiction or equivalent, and licensed as a Barrister and Solicitor with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) and in good standing.
  • For Articling Student: A JD or LLB degree from an accredited law school in a common-law jurisdiction or equivalent, and eligible to complete an articling term in Ontario.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and logical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently while also working effectively with counsel and other members of the team.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
  • Language Requirements: English and Mandarin are mandatory; Cantonese and/or French are assets.
  • A valid driver's licence and ability to drive are preferred.
