Full job description

We are looking for a Business Development Analyst with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to support revenue growth and guide our sales team toward profitable market opportunities. This role involves conducting market research, analyzing freight trends, monitoring lane performance, and supporting decision-making with actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-depth analysis of sales trends, lead generation efficiency, and conversion metrics across CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Track customer engagement levels to identify risks of churn, including monitoring frequency of interaction, volume of business, and changes in usage behavior.
  • Investigate the reasons behind customer drop-offs and provide actionable insights to recover lost business or prevent future attrition.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Google Looker Studio) for executive-level reporting on KPIs, retention metrics, and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct segmentation analysis to profile high-value customers and create models for upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations and sales to evaluate the effectiveness of pricing, contracts, and customer onboarding processes.
  • Assist in territory planning and resource allocation by analyzing historical sales and market data.
  • Monitor competitor activities, market shifts, and freight industry trends to guide strategy development.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual strategic planning sessions by preparing data-backed business cases and forecasting models.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in transportation analysis, sales operations, or logistics business development
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and reporting tools for data analysis and presentation
  • Understanding of freight rate modeling, cost-per-mile analysis, and lane optimization
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce or other CRMs, TMS platforms, and load boards (e.g., Loadlink, DAT One).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and present technical findings in a business context.
