Full job description

Position Summary:

The Parts Clerk - Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse Support role is responsible for the performance of a variety of duties including shipping, receiving, warehouse duties, filling internal and external orders, internal and may include internal / external part sales and local ordering. Other responsibilities will include the performance of related clerical duties required to fulfill the duties of a parts person, such as effectively using the Company ERP system, excel spreadsheets, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying. A solid understanding of tanks and tank trailer parts, service and delivery as well as warehouse processes is an asset. When not performing Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse tasks, this role performs Helper tasks in the Service facility.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Learn and effectively use the Company ERP system, the CRM, and all other online programs required to fulfill the duties of a parts person.
  • Handle orders and requests for parts and parts information by providing accurate, courteous, efficient and professional service to telephone, electronic and over-the-counter customers.
  • Prepare customer orders and handle product returns including returning unsold items to stock and warranty claims related to part sales.
  • Effectively, efficiently and timely perform all shipping, receiving and warehouse duties including but not limited to:
  • Receive and ship out parts - physically
  • Relieve parts in ERP system – paper and electronically
  • Perform cycle counting and daily adjustments – ensuring an accurate inventory
  • Pull and fill orders from stock for orders via telephone, electronic and internal processes
  • Replenish assigned inventory daily
  • Examine returned parts for defects and process appropriately.
  • Maintain orderliness of warehouse and efficiency of bin / material locations including tagging shelves and locations accordingly.
  • Acknowledge all internal and external customers and provide a high level of service.
  • Notify shop supervisor and the customers when special ordered parts have been received.
  • Assist in ordering parts and services as necessary.
  • Perform helper tasks in the Service Facility.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse and part sales are preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured under a Corporate Vehicle Insurance Program. Providing a driver's abstract will be required for insurance purposes.
  • Forklift license is preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently with a strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels within and outside of the organization
  • Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Mechanical skills and abilities are an asset.
