DEE DEE’S ICE CREAM IS LOOKING FOR SOME EXPERIENCED ICE CREAM SCOOPERS!

Dee Dee’s Ice Cream is a small, locally owned ice cream & burrito shop located on Nora Bernard Street, near the Commons in Halifax. We are in the process of growing our brand and are opening a new location on Almon Street (Richmond Yards) late August!

We are a small, inclusive and dynamic team looking for an experienced food and customer service worker to join our team in a supervisory/key holder role.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for food & ice cream!
  • Loves working with people.
  • Has exceptional team working skills.
  • Has exceptional customer service skills.
  • Is reliable & punctual.
  • Excels in fast paced, high volume environments.
  • Has minimum 5 years experience in food and customer service.
  • Has minimum 2 years management/supervisor experience.
  • Is available evenings and weekends.
  • Wants to work hard with a fun dynamic team as we open a brand new ice cream shop!
  • Wants to join a hard working, fun loving team and be a cheerleader and hype person.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing wonderful customer service.
  • Scooping Ice cream, mixing milkshakes, rolling waffles cones!
  • Light food preparation.
  • Doing dishes, clearing & wiping tables.
  • Supervising evening shifts with 1-2 other employees.
  • Making managerial decisions while on shift.
  • Being a team cheerleader for the shift and motivating other team members.
  • Completing and supervising the evening closing duties.
  • Being a key holder and locking up at the end of the night.

SCHEDULE:

Start date:

July 2026: Training @ our Nora Bernard location: 2-3 shifts/week
Mid-late August 2026: Thursdays-Sundays 3pm - 9pm

Shifts:

Thursdays - Sundays: 3pm - 9pm

This is a seasonal position that may wrap up sometime late fall.
