Full job description
PROFILE
This Consultant role is focused on delivering services to satisfy the growing demand among customers for automation and CPQ solutions.
Consultants deliver services to customers including mentoring, turnkey implementations, user interface and workflow design and development, technical support, software installation and configuration etc. Tools for the job will primarily include DriveWorks, but the Consultant will be expected to provide alternative solutions where appropriate, using VBA, JS & HTML or others as required, and accelerate development using appropriate AI acceleration tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather and document customer requirements for engineering & business system automation.
- Create scope documentation with clear, unambiguous deliverables.
- Accurately estimate time to complete tasks, allowing time for unexpected challenges.
- Analyze and think critically about customer business processes to design the best solution.
- Deliver turn-key solutions, consulting, development, implementations, training, and technical support.
- Create engaging user interfaces with good user experience from limited details, inferring and confirming requirements.
- Install and set up client/server software applications, SQL databases, and write queries as a part of the solution.
- Perform upgrades and migrations from older versions of implementations to the latest release.
- Use appropriate tools such as Claude and GitHub for accelerated delivery and management.
- Assist with project planning and project management.
- Keep up to date with latest tools, methods, and continuously develop skills.
- Identify sales opportunities for other business units. Performs other related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and level of the role.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, software engineering, or equivalent job experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to the USA and Canada for conferences (relevant Citizenship or existing Work Authorization).
Preferred:
- Consulting experience – ability to guide clients to the best solution and ask the right questions.
- Software Engineering background
- IT deployment experience e.g. installation scripting using chocolatey/similar, Azure experience
- Experience with programming in: VBA, JavaScript, HTML & CSS, Python, nodeJS.
- UI/UX development experience.
- SQL database management and query development skills.
- Project management experience.
- Use of Claude/Gemini/Others to build your own functional webapp
- Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in mechanical engineering and design.
- Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and terminology.
- Extensive knowledge of SOLIDWORKS 3D mechanical CAD.
COMPENSATION
- OTE $100k - 150k
