About the Role:

This position focuses on assisting sushi chefs by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing supplies to facilitate timely and high-quality sushi production. The role requires attention to detail and a commitment to food safety standards to uphold the restaurant's reputation for freshness and hygiene. By supporting the sushi chefs and front-of-house staff, the Sushi Bar Helper contributes to an exceptional dining experience for customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions accurately.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a sushi bar or similar food service environment.
  • Familiarity with Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques.
  • Certification in food handling or safety.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist sushi chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as washing and cutting vegetables, preparing rice, and organizing seafood.
