Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and organized Front House Staff member to join the team at Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto Restaurant. This role is essential in providing exceptional guest experiences through attentive service, efficient food handling, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, food industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop hospitality skills and contribute to a positive dining experience for all guests.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their visit
  • Take orders accurately using POS systems, including Micros POS, and handle cashiering duties with precision
  • Manage guest inquiries and assist with menu recommendations, upselling items when appropriate
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained during food handling and preparation
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff to ensure timely service
  • Handle cash transactions efficiently, including processing payments and giving correct change
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front of house area, including dining space, counters, and service stations
  • Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods
  • Support guest services by addressing concerns promptly and professionally to enhance overall guest satisfaction

Experience

  • Previous food service or restaurant experience of 3 years is required
  • Smart serve certification aquired.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, particularly touchbistro / lightspeed
  • Level 1 Proficiency in Japanese and/or Level B2 TOEIC English proficiency.
  • Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality and guest engagement
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and food handling procedures. Food Handling certificate preferred.
  • Experience in food preparation or kitchen operations is beneficial but not mandatory
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $17.20-$25.16 per hour
