Job Summary

Join our team at Sushi MAHANA, an intimate Japanese restaurant in North Vancouver focused on authentic hospitality and high-quality dining.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant who takes pride in keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly. This role is essential to our team’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout service
  • Keep the kitchen clean and organized at all times
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors during and after service
  • Take out garbage and recycling, and maintain a sanitary workspace
  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, cutting, portioning ingredients)
  • Prepare simple items following instructions
  • Restock ingredients, containers, and kitchen supplies
  • Help receive and organize deliveries
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Support the team wherever needed to ensure smooth service

What We’re Looking For

  • Hardworking, dependable, and willing to learn
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs)
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
  • Previous kitchen experience is an asset but not required

Schedule

  • Evening shifts
  • Tuesday to Saturday
