Kitchen Helper / Cook

Location: 1899 Brock Rd, Pickering
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Wage: $17.20 - $22.00 per hour (based on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper / Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, cooking, kitchen organization, cleaning, and maintaining food safety standards. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced restaurant environment and is passionate about food and hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients including washing, cutting, slicing, and portioning food.
  • Assist with cooking and plating menu items according to restaurant standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans as required.
  • Restock kitchen supplies and ingredients throughout shifts.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
  • Receive and properly store food deliveries.
  • Dispose of waste and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Support other kitchen duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is an asset but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
